doesnt the 20%+ push force only exist to counteract the liberties launcher -20% dmg penalty
Hello. Not sure if my opinion counts for anything but my opinion on the engi loadout.
Stock is nice but use something like Eureka Effect or P.D.Q on rollout/set up phase.
Don't use Avenger as the main shotgun unless your sentry has kills. Always use some other shotgun when your sentry gun doesn't have kills
Heavy metal can throw off your sense of metal conservation and metal use, learn to have pistol as an escape weapon as it can help with enemies outside shotgun range
Just an assumption but given how your loadout is made, you tend to place your sentry gun in either overly offensive positions(right out side of GRN spawn doors, a cheap choke that is unnecessary for the game to progress or right infront of the enemy team) or in areas that are easy for the enemy to kill your sentry. Because usually the heavy metal is only used by those who need to rebuild everything often and the avenger tells me that "I put my sentry where it'll get a few cheap kills to give me free crits and blast them to hell with a +150 DMG shotgun shot". Again just an assumption but seems very likely that that is what you do.
Given the look of your loadout, try ninjineering. If you truly want to get free crits, do it by placing the sentry in a cheap place near RED/GRN spawn as they get gunned down while thinking that spawn is a safe place for them. It's bound to catch unaware targets and allows you to temporarily stop them from getting to the frontlines while keeping them trapped in spawn and destroying their entrances
Learn good flank routes and areas to set up, this is a fundamental skill for engis. It'll also help with ninjineering
I probably ranted. Don't take my advice seriously, it probably sucks anyways. You'll learn your own way to play and that's fine with me. I'm just trying to give tips. Please don't ridicule my suggestions.
The specialist and liberty launcher are good sbeginner weapons because of their mistake allowance (larger blast radius and bigger clip sizes for both)
Replace your shotgun with the deathblow so you can hit a clutch reflect while maintaining a bit of range sustainability unlike the flare guns
Widowmaker is good if you wanna force yourself to aim better but I'd say go for the family business for the increased clip size and the PDQ and eureka effect are both better than stock (instant level 2 buildings or cheaper teleporters + setup potential compared to increased healing or 20 extra metal from medium pickups)
Also heavy metal is not that bad, you have a sentry for constant mid range harassment and I usually like going through flank routes with the increased speed for maximum shotgun damage
I know that the heavy metal isn't bad, it can just mess up a beginner engi's metal conservation a bit and they should try and use pistols/Wrangler too.
If you wanna get better at engi, watch Uncle Dane. Even if it's a different game they still help. For other classes, watch lazy purple
Could i still use my lazer gun for the mechanic?
I really like the shotgun i use for Flanker, at the moment, i'm mot likely going to change it if i get a better shotgun once i get into it. as back to the mechanic i'll take your advice and try to use it in gamemodes such as EXPORT or hold the hard point.
EXPORT? What game mode is that? Payload? Anyways, you are free to use whatever you like, I only gave my suggestion, but the Avenger isn't the best when your sentry doesn't have any kills. On Defense, try using Eureka Effect on your first loadout that preferably has a different shotgun(It can be any other shotgun) and when your sentry gets kills, you can just TP and switch to Avenger. Any shotgun is better than Avenger without crits. On offense, unless you ninjineer like me or play really aggressively, your sentry will likely either die before even getting a kill or it won't get many because you're constantly advancing, assuming there isn't a stalemate with time left. If the RED team is attacking and you have a good sentry, you might be able to get a few kills from overconfident players but be careful of any explosive class and watch out for spies. If you want better tips, like I said, watch Uncle Dane. He has many videos going over what I'm saying in more detail. Also watch Badwater and Upward blueprint vids since they give all spots for nests and whatnot on the 2 maps. Fun thing to try on Badwater, harass the RED team with a lvl 3 sentry gun with the Wrangler on the top after taking 2nd point. It can get a few kills against RED while they try to defend under the bridge.
Okie, sorry
I play alot of call of duty so i just call the gamemodes that
I run agressive play styles with the Eureka Effect, Heavy Metal, and Widowmaker (Heavy metal makes it so I can afford to miss)
What do you think?
