Update Progress[]
During January 2022, the cosmetics Modern Nobility, Aramid Operative, Racing Vet and Fearsome Force were teased in the official Typical Colors 2 Discord server.
After the Item Schema update, the new inventory search, the line viewmodel setting, the new crate unboxing animation and the Objector were teased. After the 20th of May, no new stuff was teased until mid-June; during those months, Aunarky and ExecutiveKrab posted teasers in the general chat, one of popular examples like painting and combining cosmetics.
Around April 2022, Aunarky asked the community in the official Discord server to suggest any weapons from Pre-Rehaul and Rehaul that can be eventually re-added to the current game. Aunarky accepted one of the suggestions that regarded the Quick Draw and he had also discovered the weapon was in the current game files for a while.
On April 18, 2022, Aunarky posted a list of updates that are frequently planned for the game's future but it was quickly deleted. However out of the six categorizations, two of which had been imported to this update.[3][4]
Krystal Flynn would stream herself designing cosmetics and additional clothing for the update on Twitch daily.
Trivia[]
- After the update was released, Aunarky requested from everyone to report bugs as soon as possible as the player count had passed 1k players.
- Some of the changes that was made in this update was behind community's feedback on the game; the Mercy Kill's new dash was suggested by HotPotFam.
- The name of the update is a reference to A Heavy Update, a major content update for Team Fortress 2 focusing on the Heavy class.
- A marketplace was promised to be included in this update, however it was scrapped for reasons said:[5]
- Lack of resources and the moderation power.
- Too many functions and some of them were possibly unstable.
- It was going to be very hard for the developers to keep a marketplace that needed constant maintenance, and some possibilities would have gone wrong and not working sometimes.
