The Buff Banner is a secondary weapon for the Trooper. It is a tan bugle with a military backpack possessing stickers, a buckle and a folded banner, it appears on the Trooper's back at all time and as a bronze bugle when deployed.

Equipping it grants the user's primary weapon a passive 10% faster reload and firing speed, allowing for more damage output.

Dealing 600 damage will fully charge the banner, allowing you to use it by pressing M1 while deployed, doing so grants the user and nearby teammates the ability to deal mini-crits and bypass damage resistance effects for 8 seconds.

It is very powerful for offensive plays and can often swipe an entire defense due to the sheer damage bonus mini-crits grant, the damage resistance effects bypass can be used to swiftly counter an enemy's Battalion's Backup or Vaccinator.

Tips

• Using the Buff Banner's charge on yourself is a perfectly good strategy if there's no teammate around.
• Take full advantage of this if you have several Annihilators or Troopers at your side to be able to deal powerful damage against enemies.
• The fast firerate and reload stat is recommended to be used on rocket launchers that have a slow reload or slow firing speed. You can also boost it with a rocket launcher that has a higher firerate.
• Holding down M1 will delay the effect until the button is released. Use this to your advantage.
  • This works with the Battalion's Backup and Concheror as well.
• The mini-crits should not be underestimated. It crosses several important damage thresholds, like:
  • Trooper's Rocket Launchers and Annihilator's Grenade Launchers being able to one shot light classes.
  • The Direct Hit being able to oneshot Arsonists & Annihilators.
  • Flanker Shotguns being able to oneshot light classes.
  • The Huntsman being able to oneshot light classes.
  • And allowing Sentries to become much more powerful (if in range).
