Citrus is a map made for the King of the Hill and 3CP gamemodes. The map uses similar prop, barrier placement, and details similar to typical colors 2's Orange but mixed with a more accurate size and layout of the map from the original Orange.
This map features an open farm-like area with many trucks scattered about, and large wooden structures near the sides. In the middle of the map there is a control point in a large wooden box shaped building. It has stairs leading to an upper level, which is reached via staircases accessible from RED and GRN sides respectively or the sides in the indoor section, with an opening in the center downwards to the objective.
On the opposite corner of each team's back area there is a large barn-like structure which has wide entrances and has two bottom floor levels and a smaller top floor which can see most of the map.[1] To the farthest side of each building there is a tunnel like area which leads to the large health-kit behind the building.[2]
The King of the Hill and 3CP have minor differences in the layout and design
- Going outside the spawn and up the stairs, there is 2 doorways heading in the direction of the center point, on the King of the Hill version the right doorway is blocked off with solid wood planks,[3] whereas in the 3CP version both doorways are opened.[4]
- Going outside spawn and heading towards the building directly in front of spawn exits with a gated fence, where on the King of the Hill version will have just a wooden platform with dark brown edges, on the 3CP version it is the location of the last control point on both sides respectively with yellow and black safety tape.[5]
- the rooftop in the very center of the map on the King of the Hill version is inaccessible with a large tower of wood planks with an invisible barrier on top,[6] where on the 3CP version it is fully accessible to go on top,[7] the 3CP variant also uses the wrong icon where it shows the tower of wood from the King of the Hill version despite it not being there.
Trivia[]
- This map is an overhaul of Orange, with a control points variant in place of the alternative control points version.
- This map's original name was going to be called Tangerine before being changed to Citrus.
