The Classic is a primary weapon for the Marksman. It is a Heckler & Koch PSG1 converted into a bolt-action rifle.

It allows the user to charge their shot without having to look through the scope by holding down M1. However, it deals 12% less damage.

The ability to not scope by holding down the left mouse button is extremely helpful. This can make it easier to counter flanking enemies or see beyond what couldn't have been seen with the other sniper rifles while preserving the charge meter.

Killing an enemy with The Classic will gib them, similar to rockets and grenades.

Tips[]

  • The main advantage of The Classic is that unscoping doesn't make your built-up charge disappear.
  • Only scope in to shoot enemies that are really far away. Unscope to take on any enemies that are at mid-range or approaching you.
  • A -12% damage penalty may sound like it's not a big deal, but this means that you can no longer kill a fully-overhealed Brute with a headshot.
    • However, 320 damage is enough to headshot-snipe a Brute who is not overhealed. Make sure your target doesn't have a Doctor healing them first.
  • Even though the lack of a requirement to scope in may incentivize a more offensive playstyle, quick-scoping with this weapon is ill-advised for the most part.
    • That job should instead be reserved for other rifles such as the stock Sniper Rifle and the Efficient Eliminator.
    • This is mainly due in part that you will not even have enough damage to fatally wound a light class if you attempt to quick-scope.
    • Instead, it may be better to hold off for just a moment after charging in order to go for an attack.
    • As with any other rifle, switching to a secondary weapon or a melee after taking a shot will prove to be beneficial.
  • Pairing this weapon with the Razorback can help offset the movement speed penalty while "scoped", thus allowing for a more offensive playstyle.
  • This is a good weapon to use in corners or against walls, as it allows players to charge shots, move, and hit enemies more easily in these choke points.
  • This is a great weapon to pair with the Cozy Camper. The ability to charge shots independent of zoom allows you to keep your rifle fully charged for long periods of time without gaining tunnel vision. You'll get to benefit from the Cozy Camper's flinching immunity when rifle is fully charged stat.
  • You can fake an unscope by jumping and placing the laser in a more hidden spot, tricking the enemy into thinking it's safe to leave from their cover.

  • The model is possibly inspired from a Roblox free model from 2008 called The best gun in robloxia.
    • The previous model is based off the SVD Dragunov sniper rifle.
      • Simultaneously, The Classic's model was re-used for Arsenal's Dragunov.
  • On top of being based on the PSG-1, The Classic's model is also indirectly inspired by The Underground War's Sniper Rifle.
