The Conniver's Kunai is a melee weapon for the Agent. It is a black kunai with a team-colored handle.
This weapon heals the user upon a successful backstab and gives them overheal based on the enemy's health, with a minimum and maximum of 25 and 75 health per backstab, respectively; with a maximum of 180 overheal, being the only way in the game to get overheal greater than 150%.
If the user gets more than 2 backstabs in quick succession, they will only gain a maximum of 15 health per backstab.
However, the user has a base health of 100, punishing Agents for being caught early.

Tips[]
- The Conniver's Kunai will give you the exact health that your backstab victim had. For example, if they had 30 HP before you backstabbed them, you gain 30 HP.
- With this in mind, try backstabbing enemies with more health.
- Beware that there is a limit to how much health you can steal, which is 75 HP. If you backstab a full-health Flanker, for example, you'll only gain 75 HP, not 125.
- The minimum amount of health you can steal is 25. If an enemy has 17 HP, you'll actually gain 25 HP instead.
- Your limit of "stealing only 75 HP on backstab" can actually be seen as an advantage. Since you no longer need to target classes with bigger base-health pools to immediately get to full over-heal, you can now backstab any class and the Kunai will still give you the same results.
- Because you start on 100 HP, getting the first backstab is important. Before closing in on a backstab victim, make sure there's no witnesses so you can successfully get away with the kill. And with the extra health, then you can go fight other enemies without being too careful.
- Remember that you only gain 15 HP if you backstab too many enemies in a row. To steal the most health, wait for about 3 seconds (or you could just count to 3 in your head) before backstabbing again.
- Try to cloak after each backstab so you can get away. When the next victim shows up, uncloak and get another kill.
- Despite this penalty, you can still go for a flurry of backstabs. If you backstab three enemies in a row, you will gain 40 HP, which is half of a regular 75 HP backstab.
- Remember that the Conniver's Kunai can still erase any debuffs that were put on you. If an Arsonist is flaming you down, a trickstab will get rid of that pesky afterburn.
- Convince a Doctor to overheal you before you reach the enemy. That way your 150 HP will give you more room for error if you accidentally mess something up.
- Remember that without a backstab, the maximum overheal you can get is 150. Backstab-overheal is 180.
- Even if you have 180 HP from a backstab, a Doctor cannot stop it from decaying back to 150 HP if he pockets you.
- Remember that cloaking and disguising gives you damage resistances, which means you can increase your health on demand. (Do mind that this won't really help at lower HP.)
- The health penalty, before you get a stab, leaves you vulnerable to more weapons and items than usual. This means you can be one-shot by these items (ignoring what can already one-shot you and minicrits/crits that's not given by the weapon):
- Point blank shots from the Lever Shotgun, the Lupara DB, and the Soda Popper.
- All point blank Rockets (excluding the Liberty Launcher & the Rocket Jumper), and the Equalizer when the Trooper is at lower hp.
- Any Grenade Launcher (excluding the Ultimatum), all Stickybomb Launchers (excluding the Sticky Jumper), and the Shock and Awe's explosion when the Annihilator is airborne.
- The Widowmaker at point blank range.
- The Mischievous Machete when the Marksman is at low hp and these Sniper Rifles:
- A bodyshot from the Huntsman.
- With a normal quick-scope (or fully charged bodyshot): the Classic, the Efficient Eliminator, and a Poacher's Pride headshot.
- With a quick-scope (or fully charged bodyshot) but at less than 40 studs away (20% less damage than normal): the Sniper Rifle, the Model IV, the Skullbuster and the Sour Shots.
- Ambassador headshots.
