―Arsonist
]

The Degreaser is a primary weapon for the Arsonist. It is a makeshift flamethrower made of a gas pumper, a car muffler, a team-colored fire extinguisher, a blowtorch, and a stove top burner. There's also a carrying sling attached to it.

This weapon deploys and holsters 60% and 30% faster, respectively. However, these come with the downsides of using up 25% more ammo per airblast and a 66% afterburn damage penalty, dealing 2.64 damage per tick instead of the usual 4.

Though unlisted in the stats, the Degreaser can be used to restore 50 health by extinguishing burning teammates like all flamethrowers, excluding the Phlogistinator.

Tips[]

  • While you may be able to switch between weapons quicker by equipping the Degreaser, you're going to deal less damage. Don't treat this weapon like the stock Flamethrower.
    • Instead, use your secondary and melee weapons more often to maximize the damage you deal to foes.
    • Because the Degreaser deals less damage, your secondary weapon actually becomes your primary weapon. Use the Degreaser to start fights and then switch to your secondary to finish them off.
    • It's recommended not trying to crowd-control, its low afterburn could result into a failed push if not done correctly. Its recommended to use on one enemy at a time.
  • This weapon allows Arsonist to fully utilize what is most well known in the community as a "Combo Arsonist," typically pairing together weapons such as the Detonator/Flare Gun and the Thousand Degree Axe. With the faster switch speed, this loadout can burst out massive amounts of damage in typically less than a second.
    • This allows Arsonists to very effectively pick off weaker targets such as light classes and Doctors, while also being able to tear through Troopers and Annihilators if they can consistently airblast their projectiles.
  • Another good playstyle is the "Speedsonist". Along with the Degreaser, it matches well with Family Business and the Escapist's Escapade.
    • These weapons make you switch, shoot, and run faster.
    • Only downside to all of these weapons is that they deal less damage, but each weapon's speed will make you twice as fast as enemies.
