Anyway, I've like you to continue to follow my words or just simply neglect me forever, but if I were you, I should be that guy.... so uhh, how do I start this.... ah ha! You can start by checking out our rules and manual on how to be respectful and edit respectively. Simple right?

Harvest is a map made for King of The Hill, Arena, Vs. Bosses and Team Deathmatch. It takes place in a GRN and RED operated pumpkin farm.

Locations[]

Green/Red Spawn[]

Players spawn in a small, mostly empty room with two doors at the front and a resupply cabinet. There are two windows that face outward.

Pathway[]

Outside of spawn, there are three routes. The rightmost route (exiting from spawn) leads to the team's Side Shed, and the other two paths lead inside the team's Farmhouses.

Farmhouse[]

The left and middle routes of the Pathway lead inside the Farmhouse. From here, there are two exits that lead directly to the Control Point, a flank route to the left that leads to the enemy Side Shed, and a staircase that leads upstairs.

Upstairs[]

Going up the stairs leads to a small second floor area with a medium health and ammo kit. There are a few windows to snipe out of, and to the right is a large rooftop that players can freely stand on. This area has a lot of map coverage, making it great for classes like Marksman.

Side Shed[]

To the right of each team's spawn (exiting from spawn) there is a small shed on an elevated hill. Players can get onto it's roof via a small ladder on it's back, and there is a medium health kit inside. There's an open space in front of it as well as an entrance to the enemy Farmhouse's flank route.

Control Point[]

The Control Point is in the center of the map, boxed in by a large shed with two open doors on either side. In King of the Hill, the roof of the Shed is also largely removed, allowing for players to fire downward.

Tips[]

For more tips, see King of the Hill

  • The roof of the Farmhouses make for great spots to snipe from due to their large map coverage.
    • However, due to the lack of ceiling, you should be careful of blast-jumping enemies who can surprise you from above.
  • Blast-jumping is very effective on this map, as it allows easy access to the roofs of the Farmhouse as well as the Control Point. Other vertical mobility items are also useful.
    • Any class that moves at 100% or faster speed can jump directly from the Farmhouse roof to the Control point roof, too.
  • The small spawn points combined with the lack of alternate exits makes it very easy for an un-coordinated team to be spawn-camped. Be careful to ensure this doesn't happen and have a friendly Doctor to use a SuperCharge if you are pushed back to spawn.
  • Due to the open roof, it's easy to lob arcing projectiles into the Control Point from a safe distance. Use this with items such as the Mad Milk or Lemonade if there is a large amount of enemies on the Control Point.
  • Flanking is an effective strategy on this map due to the variety of flank routes. Items such as the Interceptor, Perceptionist and Agent's knives are not to be underestimated.

Trivia[]

  • The 2016 to 2017 version of this map was taken for the toolbox and it can be viewed here.
  • Harvest was originally removed from the map rotation back in August 1st 2018 due to the fact it was very easy to spawn camp using a sentry gun. It has since been reinstated into the map pool on October 1st 2019 and revamped again on February 8th 2021. There is a hidden credits area in the GRN team's Farmhouse, specifically in the inaccessible room behind the top of stairs. It contains information on the map and it's creation.
    • The text stating "WELCOME TO THE BUTTER ZONE" is a reference to the "Butterzone", the invisible cylinder hitbox that surrounds all players which is used for collision checks with projectile weapons.
