The First Mate is one of the bosses that are part of the Pirates. He can only be the boss if Pirate Bay is the map. During the set-up stage, he will be recruited by Pirate Captain to fight alongside with him.

The First Mate being a boss counterpart of Brute, He represents a 17th century pirate like Captain Henry Morgan. He has a long black hair and a goatee and wears a purple vest with a white shirt under it and dark pants, he also has a pirate hook as his main weapon to jag people with.

If the First Mate and Pirate Captain manage to defeat all of the RED team, both will be rewarded with the Pirate Cutlass and the Walk the Plank! achievement.

Rage		Stuns all enemies within 60 studs. The stun duration changes depending on player's distance from the boss, where the max duration lasts 5 seconds. Raging does not make First Mate invincible, so players can voluntarily damage him if not stunned. 50% health of any buildings is wiped out within its range and disables them for 2 seconds.

Tips

• Before employing a strategy, always remember that you are much weaker than most bosses. You should avoid being in direct confrontations where everyone can shoot at you. You exist to assist the Pirate Captain, and you need to do just that.
• There are two main strategies you can employ:
  • You can stick with the Captain and superjump over the enemy team to surround them and distract them, injuring many and making it easier for the Captain to get some kills.
  • Or, you can roam around and kill people who are sticking it solo, as you are much stronger than a single player.
• If you choose to stick with the Captain, try to stay behind him so the captain can soak up more damage and protect you.
• Again, try to stay away from the line of sight of players. Multiple players can easily drain your health and kill you quickly.
• Try to pick off weak (yet important) targets like Marksmen, Doctors or Mechanics that have wandered away from their team.
  • If a Doctor has Supercharge, try attacking them so that they're forced to use Supercharge in a bad situation.
• You can quickly superjump at Flankers to deal plenty of damage to them, scaring or possibly killing them.
• If you are quite low on HP (1000 or so), you should play more stealthily. You should stick with the roamer strategy to avoid being shot at.
• It's a bit unwise to kill Brutes and sentries as they can still deal lots of damage to you before you die.
