[ Go ahead! Build more crutches, coward! I'll tear them all down!
―Trooper taking down a nest with one rocket.

The G-Bomb is a primary weapon for the Trooper. It is a near completely green rocket launcher with the rocket being outside of the launcher itself.

It has a 40% bigger explosion radius, deploys 25% faster, deals 50% more damage to buildings, and has 65% bigger push force radius but its projectiles fly 35% slower, consecutive rockets cannot be fired until the last one has exploded, deals 65% more self-damage from blast jumping, and a 75% smaller clip size.

Tips[]

  • Spam is an ineffective strategy with the G-Bomb, mostly due to being unable to fire another rocket until the last rocket has exploded and then some, meaning a useless rocket may snowball into more missed opportunities.
  • The increased push force radius can be useful for blasting enemies away from objectives or a Mechanic from their buildings so they can't heal them.
  • The extreme push force increase makes for a great "Trollper" subclass weapon and allows for Market Gardening in large open maps especially when combo'ed with the Mantreads.
  • You receive increased damage when you rocket-jump with the G-Bomb. From full health, you can only rocket-jump three times before you get blown up in an attempt to rocket-jump a fourth time. (Even if you survive the three rocket-jumps, you'll be left with very low health. However, you'll have more health to play with if you use the Gunboats.)
  • Since this weapon has a +65% push force and a +40% explosion radius, this is very good for keeping enemies away from a control point.
  • Accuracy is important. If the rocket goes somewhere without hitboxes, such as the sky or void, the rocket will prevent the user from firing for quite a while in the heat of battle.
  • Consider pairing this with the Buff Banner. The +40% greater explosion radius combined with the mini-crits is great at shooting at enemies at chokes.
  • The decreased projectile speed can make enemies hard to hit. It's best to fire while in close proximity to the target to ensure that the rocket will connect.
  • Take priority of the +50% damage to buildings buff, this buff can prevent Mechanics from building sentry nests efficiently.
