The Gunslinger is a melee weapon for the Mechanic. It is a robotic prosthetic that replaces the Mechanic's right hand.

It increases the user's maximum health by 10 and movement speed by 7%. It replaces the normal sentry with an offensive Mini-Sentry that is cheaper and faster to place but is much weaker.

Compared to a level 1 Sentry, it costs 23% less metal to place, deploys 150% faster and fires 20% faster at the cost of a 33% smaller health pool and 50% less damage per bullet. The Mini-Sentry cannot be upgraded, but can be repaired and refilled.

Tips[]

  • The Gunslinger encourages a more offensive playstyle, essentially turning the Mechanic from a backline support class to a frontline support class.
  • The Mini-Sentry doesn't actually need to be hit with your Gunslinger for a construction boost, as it builds up and activates in under 4 seconds.
    • Because of this, use the Mini-Sentry as a distraction for any enemies chasing you down. If the plan goes well, they'll start shooting at your Mini-Sentry instead of you, allowing you to quickly get away or shoot them down.
  • Be near with the team and the enemy make use of buildings to support the team; its Mini-Sentry provides a quick fallback option and can deals consistent damage to opponents.
  • Make use of your Primary and Secondary and coordinate with your team and help other classes fight against the enemy team.
  • The Gunslinger pairs well with either the Avenger or the Gutbuster respectively. Both pair well since they rely on playing offensively alongside the sentry.
    • Conversely, the Rescue Ranger does not pair well with the Gunslinger; the Rescue Ranger is meant to encourage a defensive playstyle, which does not compliment well with the Mini-Sentry's low survivability and damage.
  • The Pistol is the best secondary for the Gunslinger; the Gunslinger's increased movement speed allows Mechanic to reach to the frontlines faster and escape faster.
  • Sticking close to Mini-Sentries greatly increases chances of survival; its perfect aim allows it to deal consistent damage and is able to harass faster classes and is a great distraction against all opponents.
  • Do not forget to also build a Teleporter system and a Dispenser; both are equally or more important compared to a Mini-Sentry.

Trivia[]

  • This weapon was previously tested in the CTE server on September 10, 2019.
    • There was a bug where the model wouldn't attach to the player's ragdoll properly.
  • The Holiday 2021 update saw the removal of the health bonus. This would be reverted only 9 hours later due to community backlash.
