Healing is the ability to regenerate health to injured players.

This page refers to the many quirks and gameplay mechanics of healing.

Health Sources[]

Healing may be achieved though multiple sources.

Classes[]

Class

Health Source

Conventionally, the Flanker is often the least concerned with maintaining his team's health, though the Candy Cane and the Mad Milk allow his teammates to restore small amounts of health.
The Trooper can utilize the Concheror to grant his teammates both passive and active healing on-hit, though it will require a time and damage investment.
The Brute has the ability to throw consumable items such as the Battle Burrito and the Brash Burger for small or medium health packs, respectively. The power and speed of which consumable items are thrown increase when the Fists are equipped.
The Mechanic can construct a Dispenser, which allows him to dish out healing proportionate to its level; level 1 dispensers heal the least amount per second, while level 3 dispensers heal the most.
The Doctor is the main source of healing on a team. His healing capabilities include his trusty Mediguns and the Syringe Crossbow. Actual healing rates may vary between loadout choices.

Pickups[]

Main Article: Pickups

Health Pickups refer to the green-colored medical supplies scattered across each map. They restore health at different values and can be obtained through a variety of sources.

Note that the percentages relate to how much of a class' maximum health is restored.

Healing Ramp-Up[]

Healing ramp-up, when using any Medigun, refers to the amount of health restored over time when in or out of combat, or health restored based on whether or not the patient took any damage. Healing rates are tripled when the patient is out of combat for 10 seconds.

Default[]

These healing rates are calculated for the Medigun, Kritzkrieg, Blood Doctor, and Vaccinator.

Default Healing Rates
Healing (in combat) 100% 24 / second
Healing (out of combat) 300% 72 / second
Values are approximate and determined by community testing.

Rejuvenator[]

The following rates are calculated for the Rejuvenator specifically, as it is the only Medigun to have an altered healing rate.

Rejuvenator Healing Rates
Healing (in combat) 100% Normal: 33 / second

SuperCharge: 99 / second

Healing (out of combat) 300% Normal: 99 / second

SuperCharge: 297 / second

Values are approximate and determined by community testing.

Overheal[]

Overheal is a buff effect which increases a player's health up to 150% of their maximum health. It can be achieved in many ways, but the most common is to be healed from a Doctor's secondary while your health is already full.

Overheal will decay in exactly 15 seconds on all classes. When a player is overhealed, team-coloured cross particles will emit from their torso, making it easy to identify a buffed player.

Other than any Mediguns, certain weapons can also provide overheal under certain circumstances. For example, the Katana can grant overheal to the user after they killed an enemy, giving them up to 300% overheal. (if they have full health upon killing that enemy)

In Vs. Bosses however, the overheal effect does not decay.

Vaccinator Rates[]

The overheal rate for the Vaccinator has been altered in order to balance its powerful SuperCharge ability.

Vaccinator Overheal Rates
Healing (in combat) 100% Normal: 8 / second
Healing (out of combat) 300% Normal: 24 / second
Values are approximate and determined by community testing.
