The Heavy Metal is a passive secondary weapon for the Mechanic. It is a steampunk backpack with various attached gadgets and gauges.

It increases the maximum amount of metal the user can have at once by 100, increasing it from 200 to 300, and increases their movement speed 7%.

Tips[]

  • With the Heavy Metal equipped, your Primary weapon will be your only thing keeping you between life and death. Be sure that your aim and movement are exceptional if you want to make the most out of the Heavy Metal.
  • The increased metal capacity allows the user to scavenge less metal, increasing uptime on the frontlines.
  • Mechanics with the Eureka Effect or Gunslinger can construct all 4 buildings without needing to resupply.
  • The increased mobility allows the Mechanic to quickly pick up ammo boxes, reach the frontlines faster, and escape faster.
    • This stacks with the Gutbuster and Gunslinger; increasing the Mechanic's walkspeed up to 138%, making him the fastest class, ahead of the Flanker's default 133% speed. Though, it is only temporary and your movement speed will go back to default after dying or once the current match ends.
  • It pairs well with the Widowmaker, provided that you can consistently hit all of your shots.
    • Note that the lack of an offensive secondary forces the Mechanic to use his melee weapon once he's out of metal.
