[ Not a pretty sight but it'll do!
―Marksman
]

The Huntsman is a primary weapon for the Marksman. It is a wooden compound bow.

Holding M1 will charge the arrow by pulling it back. The arrow deals more damage and travels faster the more you hold it down, capping at 120 damage if held for 1 second. However, if the user continues to hold the arrow for more than 2 seconds without firing after its fully charged, the arrows will gain a random angle deviance.

Pressing M2 while charging will unready the bow if the player does not want to fire the arrow at the moment. Unlike most projectiles, arrows cannot be reflected by airblasts.

The user also moves 33% slower while the bow is charging and has a hidden stat that halves the weapon's reserve ammo.

The Huntsman has a Halloween-themed reskin called the Spider Bite.

Tips[]

  • To get good at the Huntsman, you'll need to practice on predicting. Try guessing where an enemy is going to run to and send your arrow at that location. This will be easier to do if the enemy doesn't notice you and they pass by, or if they're approaching you in a straight line.
  • Remember that holding down the M1 button for too long will make the arrow fire at an inaccurate, unpredictable angle.
    • Every time you draw the Huntsman, getting ready to fire, count to three in your head. This is how long it is before the arrow will no longer shoot straight.
    • If you reach three while counting in your head, tap your M2 button to stop getting ready to shoot.
  • Remember the locations of ammo boxes, as this weapon has the least amount of reserve ammo out of all Marksman's primary weapons.
    • Because of this, it's important to make your shots count, or your melee combat is good.
    • Stay away from your team's Mechanics and Agents, as they'll need ammo boxes a lot more than you do.
  • You can easily chip the enemy to death with the Suppressed Solution after an arrow shot to quickly fill up the charge meter, or land an arrow and follow up with a swift melee attack.
    • This combo works best against lighter classes that can also be an annoyance to your team, such as Doctors or Flankers.
  • A headshot on a Brute will heavily injure him or even finish him off.
  • You can light arrows on fire from a Flamethrower of an Arsonist on your team. Lit arrows will deal afterburn damage, which will make your target panic if the arrow lands.
    • This allows you to kill Flankers, Mechanics, Doctors, Marksmen, and Agents with a single fully charged bodyshot.
    • This also works in Medieval Mode using the torches on the map Hungry.
    • Only Arsonist's primary weapons will work. Other fire-based weapons such as the Flare Gun or Grill Scout won't do the trick.
  • Because the Huntsman encourages you to be down on the battlefield, try wearing the Razorback to give you a slight speed boost.
  • Since enemy Arsonists can't airblast arrows back at you, try wearing the Turtle Rock to give you more time to shoot arrows if an Arsonist starts burning you.
