[ Should have been over in one strike.
―Agent

The Knife is the stock melee weapon for the Agent. It is a butterfly knife with a black handle.

The Knife can stab enemies on the back for some extra damage, known as a backstab. There are 135 degrees of the back where it will count as a critical backstab, instantly killing any player. If the user stab anywhere from 90 to 112 degrees, it will count as a mini-crit backstab and its damage is scaled up based on how close the user is to the critical backstab hitbox.

It will deal a percentage amount of extra damage from the normal melee damage of 40 based on the health of the enemy depending on the angle of the stab. In the Vs. Bosses gamemode, backstabs will deal 10% of the boss' max health instead of insta-killing, regardless of whether the hit was mini-critical or critical.

The Knife has a Halloween-themed reskin called the Shadow Blessing.

Tips[]

  • Out of all of Agent's melees, the stock Knife is the most consistent.
    • It lacks any penalties or gimmicks, so it will be easier to get the initial backstab.
    • You can use it for any situation, instead of waiting for a specific moment to strike when using the other melees.
  • Enemies will scream loudly when you backstab them, which will alert their teammates. It's a good idea to cloak immediately afterwards to maintain your cover.
  • While other knives allow Agents to kill right in the open, because of their rewards for backstabbing... the stock Knife does not do this. Instead, find enemies that are alone and backstab them to stay under cover.
    • If there's no enemies that are all alone, but instead all grouped up together, use your Revolver instead to help your teammates fight them off.
  • The Knife will be the easiest way to get the Relentless achievement, as it can insta-kill three enemies in a row if you have good positioning.
