[ Take that, you pill lobber!
―Trooper taking Annihilator down with his arcing rockets.
]

The Maverick is a primary weapon for the Trooper. It is a Soviet RPG-7 Rocket Launcher with PGO-7V scope attached on the left side of the tube, completed with custom-built grips and a funnel nozzle.

It reloads 25% faster and fires 20% faster when buffed or debuffed. However, it deals 15% less damage and holsters 30% slower while buffed or debuffed.

It also has an unlisted stat where its damage fall-off is reduced by 40%.

Tips[]

  • The Maverick is a traditional RPG. It's natural that its rockets will soon drop to the ground, instead of flying in a straight line.
    • You can use this ability to take out a Marksman or even a Sentry Gun that's hiding behind a wall.
    • You don't have to aim at the floor to kill any enemies that are close to you, as the rockets will drop on their own.
  • Try to get buffed or debuffed on purpose to unlock the Maverick's additional abilities.
    • Don't be reckless though. Bleed and Lemonade will deal extra damage to you if you accidentally shoot a rocket too close to yourself.
    • More bearable debuffs like Mad Milk and Afterburn won't punish you as much.
    • While buffed or debuffed, don't pull out another weapon to avoid the holster speed penalty.
  • Many of the Trooper's other weapons can make you more powerful and almost unstoppable:
    • This weapon pairs well with the Buff Banner, as it lets you take advantage of this weapon's faster fire-rate and the mini-crits offset its 15% damage penalty.
    • This weapon also pairs very well with the Concheror, as it charges with less damage compared to Trooper's other banners allowing you to utilize the faster fire rate while buffed stat more often.
    • This weapon also pairs well with the Disciplinary Action, as you can hit a nearby teammate to give yourself a faster fire rate for a short amount of time without needing to deal damage beforehand.
    • Weapons with a faster deploy speed such as the Deathblow, Crankenstein or Tunnel Rat can be paired to negate the Maverick's 30% slower holster speed penalty. If the enemy debuffs you while low on ammo, it's game over for them.

Trivia[]

  • This weapon was previously tested in the CTE server on September 7, 2019.
  • This weapon is based off a weapon with the same name from a fanmade Team Fortress 2 update project called The BIGGEST UPDATE EVER v2.
  • The previous model was actually created back in 2016 under the name of Soviet Mumaska.
    • The said model was also loosely based off the RPG-7 albeit with additional parts, color changes and lacked a single warhead.
  • This weapon's rockets have a slight delay between firing and the rocket actually leaving the barrel.
  • The scope cap has jiggle physics while inspecting the weapon, but is completely static otherwise.
