[ Let's do this.
―Flanker
]

The Pistol is the default secondary weapon for Flanker and Mechanic. It appears to be a Hi-Power handgun with a wooden grip and a light gray finish.

Bullets fired from the Pistol deal a small amount of damage, though its high rate of fire make its damage output relatively high if multiple shots land in succession.

In addition, its accuracy, while not the best, is still tighter than the Lever Shotgun and the Shotgun, making it useful for fights outside of the primary weapon's effective range when finishing off retreating targets, or as a backup weapon when the primary runs out of ammunition. The accuracy also makes it a great option for destroying stickybombs and chipping away at Sentry Guns.

Both classes use the Pistol in a similar way; however, the Flanker only carries three extra magazines, forcing him to make his shots count, while the Mechanic carries substantially more ammunition, to the point where running out becomes nearly impossible if proper care is taken.

The Pistol has a Summer-themed reskin called the Raven.

Tips[]

Flanker[]

  • The Pistol fires more accurately than your Lever Shotgun, so use it to hit enemies that are far away.
    • But not too far away! None of your shots will land if you aim for someone on the other side of the map. You'll have to get a bit closer for your shots to land!
    • Try firing the Pistol as you're approaching an enemy to get a headstart on the fight, and then use the Lever Shotgun to finish the job.
    • You can also use it to hit enemies that are running away from you and secure the kill.
  • Remember that the Pistol reloads faster than any of your primary weapons, so reload it first if you find yourself in an ugly situation.
  • You can only reload this weapon three times before its whole ammo supply runs out, so keep an eye out for ammo boxes!
  • Be careful if you're shooting the Pistol while aggressively circling your opponents. Your aim will have to be just as fast as your running speed if you want your shots to count.
  • If another Flanker is using the Super Sneakers, the Pistol is actually their hard counter. If the Super Sneakers-wielding Flanker runs out of ammo, they'll have no choice but to reload, or even better come close to you with their Melee weapon.
  • The Pistol can also be used for harassing enemies that are retreating to a Doctor from afar, as dealing damage will keep the amount of healing per second they receive to a minimum.

Mechanic[]

  • Believe it or not, the Pistol is actually a good way to track Agents down, as its quick firing speed can make cloaked Agents blink multiple times and disguised Agents lose health terrifyingly fast.
  • Just like Flanker, try shooting enemies with the Pistol as you're approaching them and then switch to your Shotgun to finish them off. It's also good to kill retreating enemies.
  • You have a whopping 200 reserve ammo for the Pistol, so this guarantees that you won't run out of bullets to shoot, especially since collecting ammo boxes refill your metal and ammo supply for all weapons.
  • Spamming the weapon during a firefight means that a lot of your shots will miss due to bullet spread. Since bullet spread resets 1.25 seconds after a shot is fired, keep this timing in mind to make your shots land consistently.
  • If using a Primary weapon that's more of a utility type (such as the Rescue Ranger) or can't rack up damage as much as you want (such as the Einsteinium), shoot your Primary first, and use your Pistol to finish them off.

Vs. Bosses Tips[]

  • Flanker does better in Vs. Bosses with a Pistol since he can easily shoot the boss while running away from them.
    • Due to the mini-crits on hit, this weapon is perfect for mid-to-long range combat when you aren't in the effective range to use your shotgun.
    • Remember that the Pistol can run out of reserve ammo easily for, so make it a priority to remember where the ammo packs are in the map so you aren't caught without some backup damage.
  • Mechanic may not run as fast as Flanker, the Pistol is still useful to sneak in chip damage to bosses far away.
    • Use this weapon to hit the boss from long range where your Shotgun or Sentry isn't effective.
