[ Ate them bullets faster than you ate that burger!
―Marksman on hunting seasons.
]

The Poacher's Pride is a primary weapon for the Marksman. It is a Franchi Instinct L with a vertical latch, firing slug shells rather than buckshot shells.

Unlike Marksman's other weapons, the Poacher's Pride does not have a scope. However, there are two bullets per ammo clip instead of one, in turn for an -11% damage penalty.

Headshotting enemies deal crit damage, but enemies further than 96 studs will receive mini-crit damage instead. This encourages the player to fight at mid-range instead of long-range.

If fired, it will have a 0.95 second cooldown before it can headshot again; if fired during this cooldown, it will reset. This cooldown takes into effect regardless if the previous shot didn't deal any damage.

The Poacher's Pride makes the Marksman a more offensive class than a support. The absence of a scope and its reduced damage range will force players to fight on the frontlines instead of hiding in a camping spot.

Tips

  • The Poacher's Pride is one of the two primary weapons for the Marksman in which change his playstyle to be a more aggressive attacker, others being the Huntsman.
    • This weapon can be paired with the Suppressed Solution to gain charge after heavily weakening to activate heavy damage for both weapons, fortifying your role as a very offensive attacker.
    • Since the Poacher's Pride forces you to be down on the battlefield instead of camping out, try wearing the Razorback. It has a small speed boost, so you'll be just as fast as Agents, Doctors, and can go toe-to-toe with Flankers in combat.
  • When fighting along with your team, make sure you're behind your teammates.
    • Remember, although the Poacher's Pride forces a more offensive playstyle, you can easily be killed by any enemies who rush you down.
    • Simply stay behind your team and do chip damage to the enemy team from a safe distance to help your own team win their individual fights.
  • If you haven't figured it out already, the Poacher's Pride shoots straight on your first bullet, but goes slightly off on your second. So expect for your first shot to be a guaranteed headshot, while the second will either hit the body or will miss entirely.
  • You can quickly take out any light class with a headshot to bodyshot combo, which can also kill Doctors at medium range and even Annihilators and Arsonists at close range, assuming they aren't overhealed.

    • The 2019 model was taken from Arsenal's DBS, albeit without the holographic sight.
    • The 2018 model was re-used from the Sniper Rifle, but greyed out and without the scope.
  • This weapon is counted as a shotgun in Kills and Damage Dealt contracts.
  • This is the only Marksman primary to have distance-based ramp-up and fall-off, except for crits and headshots (headshots don't ramp up, but will mini-crit at a certain distance).
