―Trooper blast jumping towards the enemy Doctor at breakneck speed.
]

The Rocket Jumper is a primary utility weapon for the Trooper. It is a yellow and grey rocket launcher with a sprayed warning sign.

Its reserve ammo is tripled and the user will take no self-damage. However, the rockets deal no damage or knockback toward other players and the wearer cannot take the intelligence briefcase or collect points in Player Destruction.

The Rocket Jumper is not supposed to be used as a serious weapon. Instead, it is used to practice rocket jumping for newer players and a gimmicky playstyle for more experienced players.

Tips

  • This rocket launcher is the best weapon to use to get into the enemy spawn, especially at the start of a KOTH game. This way, they'll be distracted with taking you down while your teammates cap the point.
  • Use the Rocket Jumper to effectively practice rollouts on maps.
  • Begin rocket jumps against walls for extra height and speed.
  • You can "sync" rockets by preemptively firing a rocket downwards while falling and syncing it's detonation with another rocket, giving you an incredible upward momentum boost. This is best utilized on maps with very tall skyboxes and wide open areas.
  • While airborne, you can shoot rockets into walls to gain extra momentum. Use this on maps with long open areas.
  • This weapon pairs best with the Mantreads in the secondary slot as it makes you not take any fall damage, allowing for more free movement. This weapon also pairs well with the Market Gardener, as the Rocket Jumper lets you rocket jump without any penalties, allowing you to make the best use out of the Market Gardener's "Deals crits while the wielder is blast jumping" statistic.
