Sentries are mechanical operating turrets that fire at the closest enemy with bullets and rockets. They can be built by the Mechanic, and come in three levels. It costs 130 metal to build a sentry, and 200 metal to upgrade it.
When sentries aren't attacking, they will be facing around 180 degrees about the direction its facing, constantly rotating left and right. The sentry can detect enemies in a full 360 degrees but can attack only them if the opponent is within 10 degrees of the sentry nozzle. It will take some time to attack if the sentry has rotate out of the aforementioned 180 degrees. Sentries rotate at a speed of 180 degrees per 0.6 seconds if it detects a player. Sentries have a range of 68.75 studs.
Tactics[]
Tips[]
- Annihilator's Grenade Launchers and Sticky Bombs and Trooper's Rocket Launchers are excellent at destroying Sentries, while Agents can use Sappers to destroy them. Watch out for these classes in case they attempt to destroy your sentry.
- Watch out for Troopers using the Direct Hit weapon and Annihilators with the Iron Force, as they are capable of destroying Sentries with a few hits.
- Also watch out SuperCharged Doctors with the Medigun or Rejuvenator, as the Doctor and his teammate can take out Sentries with ease.
- Always be on the lookout for Disguised Agents. Sentries cannot attack Disguised Agents without the use of the Wrangler.
- Always maintain the ammo of the Sentry, Sentry Ammo can run out but can be refilled using the Wrench.
- Place Sentries on chokepoints and behind frontlines, they are excellent at area denial.
- Sentries, despite their high health and damage, are not damage sponges or a killing machine. They struggle against groups of enemies,
- Move the Sentry around every few kills or assists to keep the enemy team on their toes.
- The Sentry provides an excellent fallback option, run back to the Sentry when on low health to let the Sentry take care of the enemy.
- This strategy applies to all classes, fall back to the Sentry to finish off or punish an overextending opponent when at low health.
The Mini-sentry is a miniature version of the stock sentry that can be accessed by the Gunslinger melee weapon. It shares the same model as the normal sentry but scaled down to a quarter of its size, a hand crank, its long oval-shaped beep indicator removed and three white stripes on the top.
When mini-sentries aren't attacking, it will be facing around 180 degrees about the direction its facing, constantly rotating left and right. The mini-sentry can detect enemies in a full 360 degrees but can attack only them if the opponent is within 10 degrees of the mini-sentry nozzle. It will take some time to attack if the mini-sentry has rotate out of the aforementioned 180 degrees. Mini-sentries takes 4/9 of a second to rotate 180 degrees if it detects a player.

Tips[]
- Mini-Sentries are much more disposable than their Stock counterpart. Expect the Mini-Sentry to be destroyed much more often.
- Despite this, they still serve the same purpose as a Stock Sentry, only much more offensively, which is Area Denial and punishing overextending enemies.
- Hiding the weapon to only have the barrel stick out, i.e. behind a bush or a corner, will make it even more difficult for an opponent to detect the Mini-Sentry.
- Place the Mini-Sentry where enemies frequently pass through.
- Placing Mini-Sentries on Sentry Spots is not recommended, as they do not provide long-term defense.
- A wrangled mini-sentry has the fire rate of a level 2 and 3 sentry.
- In exchange, the Mechanic loses his secondary slot for a controllable Mini-Sentry. Consider using the Pistol since it has much more general combat use.
- Fighting alongside the Mini-sentry forces the opponent in a 2v1 situation, forcing them to take both the Mechanic and the Mini-sentry.
- Do not stand near the Mini-Sentry, this makes it easier for every class since they only have to shoot in one direction.
- Direct Hit Troopers and Grenade Launcher Annihilators can one-hit mini-sentries, making them a deadly threat. Deal with them first before placing a Mini-Sentry.

Bugs[]
- Sometimes when destroying a building the kill feed will show your display name and your username as an assisted building kill.
- If you move a normal sentry of any level with the Gunslinger out, the sentry will transform into a Mini-Sentry. This can happen by building a sentry with any other wrench, then switching to the Gunslinger.
- Transforming a normal Sentry to a Mini-Sentry will also give it 50 extra health.
- This also happens in reverse order where a Mini-Sentry would become a normal Sentry.
- After upgrading, the model of the sentry positions in a weird direction and the turret shifts away as it floats apparently.
- After The Update with Patches And Content, the leg positions were fixed except for the turrets.
- If you deploy your sentry in a quick manner, the sentry will break if you're affected by extremely high ping.
Trivia[]

Mini-Sentry in wireframe with errors spotted.

Height comparison of each sentry level.

The only sentry muzzle flash effect parts in the game files. ('Flash' is the single flash effect for the level 1 sentry and 'Flash2' and 'Flash3' are the main effect for the level 2 sentry)
- Sentries were the first building ever implemented in the game during the early stage of pre-rehaul.
- Sentries have changed design-wise, they used to look like their Team Fortress 2 counterparts before it was eventually switched to their current design during the pre-rehaul.
- The current models of the sentries were made somewhere in early 2016 with Roblox's solid modeling, almost making it the oldest known model surviving in the game for a decade.
- The design is inspired by the previous sentry models.
- The Mini-Sentry model has some unknown polygon errors due to being made with wedges.
- The height of the level 2 and level 3 sentry is inaccurate and horribly modeled.
- In the pre-rehaul, sentries used to have a broken idle animation where the turret rotates only at the left side around 90 degrees.
- Level 3 sentries weren't added until a very late portion of rehaul.
- After the sentry gets destroyed, a effect plays whenever the sentry parts/gears with flames flew over the place. They were removed after the end of pre-rehaul stages.
- Sentries used to deploy much faster than the current deploying speed depending on boosting construction build rate.
- In the game files, there is no dedicated muzzle flash effect for the level 3 sentry and it reuses the level 2 muzzle flash effect instead.
- The current models of the sentries were made somewhere in early 2016 with Roblox's solid modeling, almost making it the oldest known model surviving in the game for a decade.
- In Typical Colors 2, sentries functions a lot faster than the Team Fortress 2 sentries.
- Level 3 sentry's rockets come out 3 instead of 4, unlike its Team Fortress 2 counterpart, however they deal the same damage and are noticeably faster.
- A Level 3's rockets can be damage-boosted with critical hits and mini-crits.
- The projectile model of level 3 sentry's rockets reuses Blackbox's projectile model.
- Rocket kills a level 3 sentry won't count as a sentry kill for whatever reason and therefore will not grant Avenger revenge crits.
- The wind up key on the Mini-Sentry is the Wind Up Key from the Roblox Avatar Shop.
- The weapon info kill cam for sentries show the killer's active weapon.
- There was a temporary bug where the idle animations of the sentries stopped working.
- In Randomizer, a Mechanic can control his sentry by entering the scoped view with the Sniper Rifle or charging it using left mouse button with the Classic.
- The sentry's bullets start from it's base.[1]
