The Spy Camera is a PDA for the Agent. It is a small, grey portable camera with Agent's icon next to the lens.
Pressing M2 with this weapon deployed will make your field-of-view zoom in, temporarily disabling the GUI on your screen (your HP, ammo, etc.) and replacing it with a GUI representing a camera's view.
Once you are zoomed in, you can aim at enemies and tap M1 to apply a highlight effect on them. Your FOV then returns to its normal state and your usual GUI reappears.
This highlight effect is shown by the target's body having a team-colored highlight on the body, along with their body outlined in a white color. This highlight effect can be seen by the user, teammates, and can be seen through walls. Enemies will also receive an audio cue upon being highlighted by the Spy Camera, along with an eye icon in the lower left corner of their screen.
The highlight effect lasts for 10 seconds (the timer will reset if you highlight them again), highlighted targets cannot remove this highlight manually, and highlighted targets receive 35% less healing from all sources.
You can only highlight two enemies at once. If you highlight a third target, they will be highlighted but your first target will lose their highlight.
If the user or their teammate kills a highlighted target, the user will be granted an "Assist charge". Pressing your RELOAD button while the Spy Camera is deployed will grant the user 5 seconds of mini-crits.
You cannot use the Spy Camera while cloaked, as it is disabled while you are doing so.
The Spy Camera could be unlocked by reaching tier 3 of the Versatile Vacation Pass.

Tips[]
- While the Spy Camera is good for giving you mini-crits, it's also good at revealing the enemy's locations to your team.
- The highlight effect of the Spy Camera is the most effective against enemy Agents. If you manage to snap them, you and your teammates will know where the they are, even if they're cloaked or disguised.
- This especially works on any Agents using the Dead Ringer, as the highlight effect will still show you that she faked her death.
- Make sure to keep snapping the enemy Agent to ensure your highlight effect does not run out and lose track of her.
- The highlight effect will also show you which way your target is facing, allowing you to get a clean backstab without them noticing you.
- To frequently gain Assist-charges, look for enemies that your teammates can easily kill and highlight them.
- Remember that this weapon is not a Sapper. By equipping this weapon, you are willingly giving up your ability to destroy a Mechanic's buildings in turn for the ability to gain mini-crits and stalk opponents more efficiently.
- The Spy Camera is best used if there's a second Agent on your team with a Sapper, or if the enemy team doesn't have a Mechanic. (You can check this by looking at your Disguise Kit and see if the Mechanic disguise is darkened.)
- You can highlight buildings too! If you snap a picture of a Sentry, this will warn your team not to run into its sightlines, or even better show your Annihilator where to send his grenades.
- Using the Spy Camera on a Marksman will warn your teammates to watch their heads.
- Did you know? If you disguise as a Marksman, tapping M2 while holding the Spy Camera will make your disguise do Marksman's scope-in animation with his Sniper Rifle. This will make your disguise a lot more believeable!
- Do beware that the laser that comes from his rifle will not appear, which could be a dead giveaway to foes.
- Try to highlight an enemy Doctor and the player he's pocketing, which will warn your team of the incoming threat.
- The Spy Camera might also be good if you're playing more aggressively (shooting more than backstabbing) instead of the usual stealth style.
- If you're playing as an Agent and an enemy Agent uses the Spy Camera on you, the best thing to do is to retreat. The highlight mark will not wear off for 10 seconds. None of your tricks will work if the enemy team knows where you are, so stay in the backlines (or if you want to, your spawn point) until the highlight wears off.

Trivia[]
- There used to be a bug where the Spy Camera would use the Sniper Rifle's world animations instead of its own.[1]
- Despite the Spy Camera not being a firearm, a bullet hole can be seen if you snap a photo at a surface, such as a wall or the ground.
- If you taunt while holding the Spy Camera, it plays the same animation as the Sapper, which makes Agent act as if the camera was a cell phone.
- This is one of the weapons in Typical Colors 2 where you can get an assist without dealing any damage. (The other weapons being Doctor's mediguns).
