Status effects are special effects that affect players in certain ways, whether it is a positive or negative attribute. Positive effects are the effects you should try to receive and are helpful during combat, however negative effects are the effects you should try to avoid.

Overheal[]
Overheal is a temporary health boost of up to 150% of a player’s base health. It can be obtained when you have full health while a medigun is still healing you or from health-on-kill weapons. The Conniver's Kunai has a maximum of 300% the player’s base health rather than 150%.

Critical Boost[]
Critical Boost is the effect of being able to deal guaranteed critical damage for a certain amount of time. Critical hits deal triple the base damage of the weapon and have damage ramp-up and falloff removed. The user's weapons will have their details removed and will flash a team color. It can be obtained from using certain weapons, when a match ends for the winning team, or picking up a pumpkin-shaped candy bucket dropped by players on death (Halloween-map exclusive).

Mini-crit Boost[]
Mini-crit Boost is the effect of dealing 135% of a weapon's base damage for a certain amount of time. The user's weapons will have their textures replaced with a solid yellow/yellow-green color, depending on which team you're on. It can be obtained from using certain weapons or having a critical boost on weapons that cannot deal critical damage. Unlike its more powerful variant, mini-crits are still affected by damage ramp-up and falloff.

Invisibility[]
Invisibility is the effect of being extremely transparent, being near-undetectable. The user's weapons will also appear transparent and cannot be used. It can only be obtained by Agents using a cloaking device. Note that other world objects like Marksman's laser dot, debuff particles, damage numbers and sliding doors can give away your invisibility. Invisibility is not perfect and has a smoke effect that can occasionally be seen in brightly lit areas.
Locked[]
Locked is only obtainable in the Prop Hunt gamemode, when you start a taunt using Prop Handle, the prop you are disguised as will not move with your camera. It will also make it so you can't be moved by bumping into it. When you jump, it will cancel the effect without moving your character upwards.
Negative Effects[]
Lemonade[]
Lemonade is a debuff which the victim will receive 35% more damage, known as mini-crits. The player will be completely covered in a yellow liquid and drip yellow droplets in the world. It can be washed away by a water source, the Grill Scout or the Fire Extinguisher.
Milk[]
Milk is a debuff where any damage the victim takes will return 35% of said damage as health to the player that inflicted the damage. The player will drip white droplets in the world. It can be washed away by a water source, the Grill Scout or the Fire Extinguisher.

Bleed[]
Bleed is a debuff where the victim will lose 4 health per tick, ticking twice a second, totaling 8 DPS. The afflicted player's screen will flash red every tick, and the player will drip red droplets in the world. It can be removed using health packs, the Grill Scout or the Fire Extinguisher.

Afterburn[]
Afterburn is a debuff where the victim will lose 4 health per tick, ticking twice a second, totaling 8 DPS. Afflicted players will have fire effects on their screen and on their character. It can be extinguished by a water source, airblasts, health packs or being hit by the Thousand Degree Axe. Arsonists have a maximum of one second of afterburn.

Marked for Death[]
Marked for Death is a debuff which upon applied to a player, will cause them to take mini-crits and have a team-colored skull icon above them in the world. It can only be removed if the person who applied the affect to you is killed, you use the resupply locker (except if you are using the Witches Brew or the Rescue Ranger) or getting hit by a teammate using the Grill Scout or the Fire Extinguisher. It effectively acts as a more powerful and longer-lasting version of Lemonade.
Players can be seen through walls if they are Marked for Death, but the Rescue Ranger is an exception to this.
In Vs. Bosses, this function is different from the other gamemodes. Bosses marked for death by any method will cause all incoming damage to become full critical hits instead of mini-crits.
For the RED Team in Vs. Bosses, the surviving members are sped up to match the speed of a Flanker. Otherwise, this is simply used as a marker for the boss to locate the final remaining members of the team. This only happens when there are less than 3 players on the RED team.

Healing Debuff[]
Healing Debuff is a debuff where victims receive less health from health sources. It does not have any indication effects and it can only be removed if you wait it out or get hit with the Grill Scout or the Fire Extinguisher.

- All Flamethrowers when under direct fire (except for the HuangLong's Wrath)
Stun[]
Stun is a debuff where the victim is locked in third-person camera and cannot use any weapons. A text effect will appear above their head and cannot be removed until it wears off.
It can be applied using:
- A boss activating their Rage
Highlight[]
Highlight is a debuff that can only be used in the Vs. Bosses gamemode, when applied it will cause the victim to take mini-crits for as long as the Marksman had charged his Sniper Rifle and have a sight icon above them that can be seen through walls.
This debuff can only be applied by hitting a headshot on the boss as a Marksman.
It can be applied using:

- Efficient Eliminator
- Model IV
- Skullbuster
- Sour Shots
- Urban Upriser
Glow[]
Not to be confused with Highlight, Glow is a debuff that outlines the target white with a team colored fill, and this appears through walls. This debuff can also be applied to buildings. Glow is removed upon death.
It can be applied using:
- Spy Camera (Visible by entire team.)
- Radius Scanner (Only visible for the user.)
Poison[]
Poison is originally a removed debuff which, upon being applied to a player, will cause them to take mini-crits and have a team-coloured skull icon above them in the world. It could not be artificially removed. This version of Poison was effectively replaced by Marked for Death during Rehaul.
The Poison effect returned in the The Update with Patches And Content. It functions similarly to the Bleeding debuff, although it deals more damage but lasts a shorter duration.
