When editing, always remember that a wiki is a collaborative project. What you may think is an appropriate edit could be disliked by other editors. This does not mean that you should stop editing, but rather, should discuss it with those who have issue with it and come to a consensus on the matter.

This idea goes both ways. If you see an edit that you find disagreeable, bring it to the editor's attention through their message wall. Likely, the editor either didn't know about the issues or perhaps thought that they were acceptable. By default, you should assume that the editor made the edit with good intentions, unless there's reason to believe otherwise. Once coming to a consensus on the matter with the editor, take appropriate action.

Things to remember

• Above all, be civil.
• Assume good faith.
• Other people are on the other side of the screen.
• Dislike the idea, not the editor.
• Be open-minded. Do not refuse to accept others' ideas because they are not your own.
• Consider the pros and cons of all ideas, and how it may appear to someone who has never used the wiki before.
