Typical Horrors (or Halloween 2021) was a major update that released on November 1, 2021.
The update featured new content such as the contract system, random item drops, and the official release of the Strange and Haunted qualities. It also provided Halloween variants of certain maps, weapon changes, and much more.

Strange quality[]

Having been untouched since 2017, the Strange quality has made a comeback to the game, with multiple of weapons connected to the quality that can be obtained via item drops.
Haunted quality[]

Haunted quality has finally been used ever since its undocumented introduction in 2016; they come with their own unique Unusual effect and it is awarded to players who unboxed cosmetics from the retired Halloween 2018 Costume Crate prior to this update.

Update Progress[]
Aunarky would often stream himself programming and testing the new content in the official Typical Colors 2 Discord server. He also teased some upcoming content to the update in the general chat and the coming soon channel, some of which included the new server browser, the new contracts system and the unreleased Sunset map made by IcyTea.
The first part of the update was planned to be released on October 31, 2021. However, it has been delayed by a day due to a major Roblox outage that left players unable to access the whole site for three days. Although the site was beginning to become operational again the day the update was supposed to drop, Aunarky stated that he would not release it until all players in all regions had access to Roblox again. Thus, prompting the delay until November 1.
From November 1st to November 4th, Aunarky would release several patches to improve the quality of the game. One of these patches went undocumented and pertained to the state of every server, in which the ping would spike well into the ten-thousands. After a few minutes of research, Aunarky and FWEEEEEEE were quickly able to pinpoint the issue and patch it out of the game. The issue was caused by a script running thousands of times per second: "When 
, do".
On November 4th, Aunarky released several updates to the game pertaining to unusual effects. This included lowering the selling price of unusuals, but doubling the chances of unlocking one for every weekend. This made several players uncrate dozens of crates to unlock unusual after unusual in the middle of rounds, prompting Aunarky to make an announcement in the official Typical Colors 2 Discord server.
During this mini-event, an incident occurred while Aunarky was in a public server, in which ancientsoldiers unlocked a total of 21 unusual effects within an hour and a half. During this time, Aunarky agreed to give away a random reskin or Strange item to a random player in the server every time ancientsoldiers unlocked an unusual effect. Ancient has since sold most of the unusual effects he unboxed.
On November 6th, Aunarky released a new gamemode, Team Deathmatch, to private servers. It has 5 maps that are currently in rotation for the gamemode.
Several quality of life changes, including the long-awaited minimized viewmodels setting, have since slowly trickled their way in.
Trivia[]
- This update had several features promised, such as the Halloween 2021 crate which ended up releasing in the Fittmas 2021 Update as the Halloween 2021 Gift Bag, and the rest of the Halloween contracts.
- Removed Herobrine appears as a satirical patch note in the official Typical Colors 2 Discord server.
- There is a 1/200 chance where players would get a Vine sound effect from a image of a facing Brute when loading up the game.
- Aunarky had forgotten to give the update a official name after the initial update. This would be corrected about a day later.
