Typical Colors 2 has received many updates, which fix bugs and glitches, add new content such as weapons or maps, and/or improve the game. Game updates are typically recorded in the update-log section by FAKEAXIS and ExecutiveKrab. However, other developers occasionally record updates from time to time.

There 2 different types of updates, major updates and patches:

  1. Major updates are updates that contain a lot of new content which improve the game, like the The New WINTER update.
  2. Patches are tiny little updates which only fix bugs and glitches.

The official update log can be viewed on the official Typical Colors 2 Discord server. Some major updates have been named, usually containing features related to the name, while others are simply small patches to iron out bugs and/or add less significant content updates.

When a major update is released, servers will shut down, and players will be automatically teleported to new servers.

The current documented patch is the Feburary 8, 2025 update.

This Update Log records all updates since the August 17, 2017 update patch, which was the release of the game under the name "Rehaul" as well as updates for the previous testing game "CTE" , updates for Community Server support, and side gamemodes "Vs. Bosses", "Medieval," "Randomizer," "Equally Randomized," "Team Deathmatch," and "Experimental Test".

  • Re-added the weapon information box.
  • Fixed a bug where contracts would sometimes wipe when leaving.
  • Rewrite the Payload UI elements.
  • Payload progress percentages over 98% now show two decimal places.
  • Made Payload UI element math 1:1 with real Payload progress.
  • Made the Payload UI no longer stretch on the x-axis.

  • Fixed issues with physics causing massive lag.
  • Fixed airblasting sticky bombs.
  • Fixed mobile class menu issues, such as the missing leave button and recommendations clipping out of bounds.
  • Fixed a bug where servers would store old information about other servers for the server browser.
  • Fixed a bug where taunt voicelines would only play once during the taunt if it was a looping taunt.
  • Fixed a bug where the server browser would error out in certain places.
  • Fixed a bug where the KOTH UI contested element would blank out the captured and capture progress elements.
  • Attempted to fix a bug where Payload checkpoints would not show up in the UI.
  • Added voicelines to the Spell Binder taunt.

  • Fixed a bug where joining an Experimental Test server would override your normal inventory with your experimental inventory.

  • Weapon changes:
    • Wraith:
      • Keybinds have been changed, Holding the Reload key will now switch the spell, and pressing the Reload key will cast it.
      • Spell cooldown is now displayed on the screen.
      • Increased Spell cooldown from 0.8 seconds to 1.25 seconds.
      • Spells no longer charge passively.
      • Spells cannot be cast while cloaked.
      • Kills/assists will now only grant 25% magic instead of 100%.
      • Removed Silent Killer attribute.
    • Afterimage:
      • Trail updated to be much more visible.
      • Damage will flicker invisiblity (enemy contact still doesn't).
    • All miniguns (Experimental servers)
      • Minimum damage ramp-up over time is now 50% instead of 35%.
      • Damage ramp-up over time is much faster.
  • Bug fixes/Misc:
    • Inventory will now autosave.
    • Fixed a bug where bosses with custom faces would use their original counterpart's face.
    • Fixed issues with contracts not giving rewards properly.
    • Fixed mobile FOV setting not working.
    • Fixed teleporters rubberbanding people back to their entrances.
    • The "Taunt Kills" Strange Part can now be applied to the Gunslinger and Quick Draw.
    • Heavily optimized the new inventory system.
    • Made numbers on the Sinister Suit's viewmodel bigger.
    • Updated sound effects for the Snowbro.

  • Fixed an issue where players sometimes couldn't join teams in Vs. Bosses and community servers with no team limits.
  • Fixed strange counts not properly updating.
  • Fixed a bug where players who couldn't normally purchase crates were able to purchase them in the featured store.
  • Fixed a bug where the password pop-up would not show up when using the direct connect box.
  • Fixed a bug where the password pop-up would sometimes not show up.
  • Fixed some Vs. Bosses tips not displaying correctly.
  • Fixed errors when creating servers disconnecting the entire pop-up's functionality.
  • Fixed map icons in the server browser displaying incorrectly sometimes.
  • Fixed the Cuteness Overload kill-icon displaying incorrectly.

  • Fixed a bug regarding mobile players not being able to use the mobile menu if they disabled their "Toggle Boss" button.
