The Vaccinator is a medigun for the Doctor. It is a blue and gray-colored version of the stock Medigun.
The main use of this weapon is the ability to select the desired resistance that applies to both the Doctor and the healing target. The player can cycle through bullet, explosive, and fire resistances by pressing the reload button (R) when fully deployed, this is visible besides the SuperCharge meter. Simultaneously, the SuperCharge meter is divided into 4 bars similar to the Blood Doctor.
The Vaccinator builds SuperCharge 67% more faster, however this rate is reduced by 33% upon healing a overhealed patient. The Doctor and the patient gain a 10% resistance to the selected damage type when actively healing. The Vaccinator also builds 66% less healing on overhealed targets.
When the SuperCharge is deployed, one bar is immediately consumed, as a protective shield of the selected damage type is placed on the Doctor and the applicable patient that lasts around 2.5 seconds. This preceding shield gains a 75% resistance to any selected type of damage and fully resists critical hits of its type. Attempting to place a shield on a patient who already has an active shield of that damage type will have no effect. In addition, shield icons for any active resistances will appear on above of both the Doctor and patient.
Any partially charged SuperCharge bar is not lost upon deploying one, as the SuperCharge is simply reduced by 25% upon placing a shield.

Tips[]
- Know when to use each resistance type.
- BULLET: Flanker, Brute, Mechanic (his Shotgun, Pistol, and Sentry's bullets), Doctor, Marksman, Agent
- EXPLOSIVE: Trooper, Annihilator, Mechanic (his Level 3 Sentry's rockets)
- FIRE: Arsonist, Mechanic (his Einsteinium)
- SuperCharges will make enemy attacks deal only approximately 20 damage, as long as you use the correct resistance.
- If you're getting tired of getting killed before activating a good SuperCharge from the other Mediguns, the Vaccinator might be a better choice.
- Fun fact: the Vaccinator won't protect you against melee attacks. Watch out for Agents (they can backstab), Trolldiers (Troopers who only kill with the Market Gardener) and Anniknights (Annihilators who only kill with their melee). Get ready to run or fight back if someone pulls their melee weapon out!
- Before a Payload game starts, heal your teammates so you have all four SuperCharges ready to go.
- Even a Flanker can single-handedly wipe the floor with a Brute if you use your Bullet resistance.
- When confronting a Sentry, it's best to use the Bullet resistance on a Trooper or Annihilator.
- You and a patient can survive a Marksman's headshot if you use the Bullet resistance.
- Despite what's said in the section above, it's smarter not to use the Explosive resistance if a Level 3 Sentry shoots its rockets. They only shoot once in a while, so use your Bullet resistance instead to deal with the overwhelming spray of bullets from the Sentry.
- If an Annihilator placed a sticky trap with his Stickybombs, use the Explosive resistance to survive the explosion.
- You can also barely survive a Trooper's attack if you use the Explosive resistance.
- The Fire resistance can reduce the damage that afterburn does. But since your healing is already fighting the afterburn, it's best to only use the Fire resistance if you have 3 or 4 SuperCharges, or if you yourself are about to die.
- Unless they have Mad Milk ready, the class who would appreciate your Fire resistance the most is the Flanker, who's known to die to Arsonists a lot.
