This update brings a lot more to the table than previous ones, changing existing features in the game to make them better or overhaul them.
And on top of that, we've added tons of content to the game for your enjoyment :)

Various Visuals was a major update accommodated by Aunarky and ExecutiveKrab on January 28, 2022. This update focused on game improvements, a brand new voxel lighting system, bug fixes and more.

This update also officially introduced the Administrator's assistant, Ms. Charlie who assigns and reminds the classes on certain contracts.

Animation Overhauls[]

[ Tons of new animations to clearly reflect players' action and improve class recognition and to show feedback to what's happening currently.
Visibility is also another thing we considered when creating them.

  • Typical Colors 2 received a overhaul for character animations (etc. idle animations and taunts), it also introduced advanced animations such as rocket jumping. Headshot and backstab animations were re-introduced after being absent for 4 years. They are animated by CamoCamper_TC2, Buildingsssss, Nebelous555 and freakyfish7.

New lighting[]

[ The biggest change we made to TC2 this time is the change of Lighting Technology.
Previously, we have used Legacy Lighting in our games for the longest time, But now it's time for a change. Maps look even better than before and have extremely marvelous shadows.

  • Typical Colors 2's lighting system now uses Lighting Technology. As a result, ShadowMap is used for the lighting.

    20 new contracts (by uwypwn and SOOOOOAPYMEiSTER)
    New particles for all critical effects (by MinecraftES).
    Changed the votekick GUI to look modern.
    Added a pink indicator on the health bar when getting points.
    Added Tutorial Nodes, this setting instructs players to capture objectives.
    Added a 'Shift Crouch' setting.
    Added 'No Viewmodels' setting.
    A weapon indicator in the killcam displaying the enemy's weapon used to kill the player, including quality, rank and kills earned.
    Added overtime theme to Capture the Flag.
    Added 'Q + E' feature in spectator freecam, this feature allows to move up and down without turning when spectating.
    Unusual effects exclusive from the Cosmetic Coolers, Halloween 2021 Gift Bag and Holiday 2021 Secret Gift, can be unboxed from any crates.
    Teams now get auto-selected, as the AFK button is seen in the team selection screen.
    Spawn doors are properly removed from Infection.
    Fixed an issue where the control point in Arena does not work.
    Fixed an issue where milestone achievements are not awarded to the player.
    Added more achievements correlating to levels.

    Added a setting for enabling/disabling ragdolls.
    XBOX users are able to see ragdolls.

Update Progress[]

On December 19, 2021, Green_Sama posted a mysterious image of meshes and red glowing effects in the dark. A different image of the same content would surfaced months later, this time, consisting of green glowing effects and lines.

Afterwards, many other anticipated contents were surfaced as those considering to be animations overhaul by the community. Others like ragdolls making impactful sounds and 'Tutorial Nodes.'

Trivia[]

  • A model rework for Mending Mallet was mentioned in the game's update log despite being changed 20 days ago.
  • The achievement for reaching level 421 was made to commemorate TophatAbza for being the first player to reach level 420, however by the time the update released she had already leveled up.
  • There is a chance that the monologue from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator's Completion Ending would activated on one of the phone calls.
  • The creator, voice actor and voicelines co-writer for Ms. Charlie were not credited until the February 21, 2022 patch.
  • The update had huge criticism due to the huge lag and some of the broken contracts, those being:
    • The new lighting system caused massive lag and frame drops in big maps, the lighting system was changed and the "no shadows" was added 2 days later.
    • Pickups had delayed pick-up times, which caused unfair gameplay to many players. It was requested to be fixed every time Aunarky started chatting in the Typical Colors 2 Discord server.
    • Some of the contracts were broken, as they didn't go up once the player made progress, some of the patches had documented an attempt of fixing the broken contracts.
